Postdoctoral Fellowship (2024) by Social Sciences Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). University of California San Diego

These fellowships support the most promising Canadian new scholars in the social sciences and humanities and assist them in establishing a research base at an important time in their research careers through an award of $90,000 CAD.

Social Sciences Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Development Grant (2023). University of Guelph

In collaboration with Miawpukek First Nations (MFN) people I [as a Co-PI] received 75,000 CAD for the project "A berried worldview: Socio-ecology of berries of Indigenous landscapes of Mi?kma?ki (Newfoundland)”

British Columbia Graduate Scholarship (2020). University of British Columbia 

The province of British Columbia has funded BC Graduate Scholarships (BCGS) in any field of study, with emphasis on research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, and support for Indigenous students. The scholarships of $15,000 CAD will be awarded by graduate programs and disciplinary Faculties.

National Geographic Explorers Grant (2018). National Geographic Society

The National Geographic Society's Conservation Trust Advisory Board awarded me a grant in the amount of US$7,000.00 in support of my project " De-mystifying the Adivasi knowledge of forest and wildlife in India”

Public Scholars Award (2018 | 2017). University of British Columbia

This award is part of the UBC Public Scholars Initiative (PSI) which intends to build connections, community, and capacity for doctoral students who are interested in explicitly linking their doctoral work to an arena of public benefit and integrating broader and more career-relevant forms of scholarship into their doctoral education process. I received $20,000 CAD to direct a documentary as part of my PhD.

Partnership Research Fund (2018). University of British Columbia

In partnership with MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), I received PRF grant to conduct the study “Mapping the cultural ecosystem services of Adivasis in relation to forest ecosystems of Wayanad (Kerala), India”

 

Institute for Asian Research Graduate Fellowship (2017). University of British Columbia

This program brings together UBC graduate students with an interest in advancing research that addresses a broad range of issues — particularly those with relevance to policy or global affairs — and is based on engagement with and deep knowledge of Asia.

 

Nehru Humanitarian Graduate Award (2017). University of British Columbia

This award supports graduate students engaged in the study of India's political, historical, economic, religious, social, or cultural aspects in Canada.

 

UBC Four Year Doctoral Fellowships (2016). University of British Columbia

This program provides funding for UBC's best PhD, DMA, and MDPhD students of up to $18200 per year plus tuition

 

Commonwealth Scholarship (2009). Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, United Kingdom

This international and prestigious fellowship supported my MSc at the London School of Economics and Political Science with full tuition fee, monthly stipend, and travel expenses.

Secured gold medal and first rank for MSc in Environmental Biology, at University of Delhi.

 

University First Rank Holder Award (2008). University of Kerala

Secured gold medal and first rank for BSc Zoology, at University of Kerala.
